Madison took advantage of an under-manned Peabody-Burns team to advance to the second round of the 8 man division 1 state playoffs with a 46-0 win Thursday night in Madison.
Madison would take a 14-0 lead in the first quarter thanks to an 11-yard touchdown run by Austin Watts and a 40-yard touchdown run by Ryan Wolgram. Peabody would manage to hold Madison through the remainder of the first before the Bulldogs forced a turnover on downs in the second quarter to end an 11 play drive by Peabody.
Touchdowns by Watts, Wolgram, Nassum Wasson, and Chase Harrison would put the Bulldogs up 38 to nothing. A 29-yard touchdown run by tight end Hunter Engel coupled with a two-point conversion run by Issac Miser would seal the win for the Bulldogs 46-0.
Engle says they were able to overcome early mistakes to come out on top.
