We're not that far away from a busy weekend for community events in Emporia.

One of the featured activities Saturday will be the Teddy Bear Clinic offered by Newman Regional Health. COVID-19 took the event off the schedule last year, and this year it's changing format. Director of Business Development McKenzie Cinelli had details on the drive-thru format recently on KVOE:

In addition, kids will get information about attending a virtual X-ray appointment courtesy of Dr. Derek Brown.

The free event is from 9 am to noon at the parking lot off West 12th Avenue after being held at Flinthills Mall for years. It's intended to educate children about the importance of health care in general, but it's also designed to highlight the importance of a good relationship between doctor and young patient.

KVOE will broadcast from the event from 9-11 am.
