Edgar Gilberto Gonzalez, Jr., will spend over nine years in prison for his involvement in a shooting incident and two other cases last year.


Gonzalez was sentenced to 71 months after a plea agreement on an aggravated burglary charge following a shooting incident in the 1200 block of Beverly last June. He also got 29 months for one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon related to a connected case and 12 months for criminal damage stemming from an unrelated incident. All told, Gonzalez will spend nine years and four months in prison.

In the shooting incident, Gonzalez's co-defendants have already been sentenced. William Walters was sentenced to 44 months in prison, while Hector Velazquez received 46 months in prison. Both accepted pleas on single counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery.
