Halloween may be a month away but there was plenty of hauntings going on Saturday night at Emporia's Plumb Place.

Flint Hills Paranormal hosted a soldout Spooktember event. Tour guides split up investigating for spirits in each of the historic home's different rooms. Co-founder Dr. Linda Clarke took a group that included KVOE News to the basement of Plumb Place where we apparently encountered the spirit of 2-year-old Tommy, the son of Preston Plumb.

It's not unusual they say to hear footsteps in the ballroom, orbs, cold spots, doors rattling and opening. The main floor is also very active. Co-founder Brandy Nance said Saturday they had an experience with Senator Plumb.

The event sold out to capacity with groups experiencing the spirituality of the building's history. Funds raised from Saturday's events are being given to Plumb Place, which helps serve women and children in need. The group can be contacted online at flinthillsparanormal.com.
