The third annual Field to Feast gathered close to 50 people for a true farm to table dining experience Saturday evening.

The collaboration between the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and Flint Hills Technical College created a unique atmosphere on the farmstead of Rex Williams, just south of Emporia. Food was provided by culinary arts students at FHTC. Chef Bryan Romano says events like this aim to showcase the abilities of the students.

Dinner included caramel lacquered braised short ribs, carrot spaetzle, coffee and chili pork belly and a butter bean and lamb ragu. Various wines were served from the Smoky Hill Winery. Students learn a lot Romano says about the entire casual, elegant dining process.

Romano called the night an ideal scenario for a Field to Feast event. The Chamber and Prairie Land Partners John Deere sponsored the event.
