Early morning rainfall may have made the ground at the Lyon County Fairgrounds a bit muddy, but it didn't slow down the competition at the 4H Rodeo Wednesday night.

Local 4-Hers got the chance to take on a variety of events during the annual competition.

Mason Gibson of Reading competed in four separate events and won intermediate breakaway roping and chute doggin. Gibson says while the competition is fun, he also enjoys the interaction with other 4-Hers.

Junior competitor Layne Wilson talks about her favorite events and the different horses she competes with.

Senior competitor Emma Miller of Olpe was taking part in her last 4H rodeo and says 4H has helped show her what she wants to do in the future.
