Chase County Softball team nearing record

The Chase County High School softball team opened their season with a doubleheader sweep of Mission Valley Thursday. Chase County won 11-0 and 20-2. They are wins 70 and 71 in a row. They can tie and break the State record for most consecutive wins next Tuesday at Marion.

The Emporia High girls swim team opened their season qualifying 8 swimmers for 9 events for State Thursday.

Rough Thursday night for the Emporia High girls soccer team they were shutout by Bishop Carroll 9-0. They return to action Monday in the Titan Classic.

Emporia State tennis match halted by rain

Rain halted play in the tennis duels between Emporia State and Northwest Missouri State Thursday night. The Lady Hornets won 2 of 3 doubles matches. Northwest won 2 of the 3 mens doubles matches. They were in the middle of singles play when rain arrived. They will resume the matches at a later date. Friday the Emporia State women host Missouri Western in a duel beginning at 3pm on the Emporia State George Milton Courts.

Lady Hornet season ends in final 4

The season for the Emporia State womens basketball team came to and end Wednesday in the final 4 of the NCAA Division II womens basketball tournament. California, Pennsylvania out scored the Lady Hornets 51-46.
