The Emporia AAA American Legion baseball team lost to the Wichita Greys Thursday night 6-4. A 5 run 7th inning for the Greys was the difference.
(kstatesports.com) Kansas State mens basketball coach Bruce Weber announced the signing of prep school shooting guard Ron Freeman from Inglewood, California on Thursday. Freeman receives the Wildcats’ 13th and final scholarship for the 2015-16 season.
Congratulations to the Emporia Soccer Academy's U9 team. They were recognized at last Saturdays Sporting Kansas City Soccer match for winning the Heartland Soccer Association U9, Division 6 Spring League going 8-0. They also won two tournaments in Kansas City going 4-0 in both tournaments. They out scored their opponents 96-13 during the spring season.

Participants interested in the 5K/10K Cauldron Run, Adventure Race, Baseball (9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 14U), BMX, Bocce Ball, CrossFit, Disc Golf, FootGolf, Indoor Soccer, Judo, Martial Arts, Swimming, Target Archery, Tennis, Track & Field, Trap & Skeet Shooting, Volleyball and Wrestling must register today! The deadline for all other sports is Friday, July 10th. You can registar on-line at sunflowergames.com.
Wichita State has released its mens basketball non-conference schedule for this next season. It includes a game against Emporia State on November 21st.
Both the Emporia Junior and Senior American Legion baseballl teams have been selected to host zone tournaments. The Junior Legion zone tournament will be played July 13th -16th with 7 teams. Joining Post 5 will be Salina, Ottawa, Manhattan, Junction City, Marion and Paola.
The Senior Legion zone tournament will be played July 22nd and 23rd with 4 teams. Joining Post 5 will be Andover, Winfield and the Wichita Aviators.
