Rough day on the golf course for the Emporia High boys golf team, they finished in 20th place out of 22 teams at the Topeka West Invitational Monday. Josh McAnarney and Collin Hopkins had the low scores for the Spartans, both shot 92. Braden Schuler shot a 96. Up next for the Spartan golfers will be the Centennial League Tournament next Monday.
The Emporia High girls soccer team picked up their 7th win Monday night out scoring Topeka West 2-0. Danya Brewer and Kadin Stinson scored the goals for the Lady Spartans. They improved to 7-5 for the season. They will host Shawnee Heights Friday.

The Chiefs will face the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football on September 17, followed by a visit to Green Bay to take on the Packers on Monday Night Football on September 28. Chiefs fans will also get the chance to watch their favorite team on Sunday Night Football on November 22, as Kansas City takes on the Chargers in San Diego.
