For the third week in a row the Emporia State women are ranked number 1 in the National Coaches poll. They will put that number 1 ranking on the line Wednesday at Southern Arkansas.
The Emporia State mens basketball team led from beginning to end on the way to a 87-71 win over McPherson Tuesday night.
11th ranked Wichita State rallied for a 53-52 win over Alabama Tuesday night. The Shockers trailed by 11 with under 5 minutes to play. Darius Carter gave Wichita State the lead with 11.9 seconds remaining with a dunk. Carter and Ron Baker led the Shockers with 16 and 14 points, as they won their 23rd consecutive home game.
The Olpe Eagles pulled the road doubleheader sweep over the Jaguars in Hartford Tuesday night on the featured games on Country 101.7 FM. The Olpe girls over-powered a feisty Jaguar team for a 62-37 victory, while the Olpe boys used a strong third quarter to pull away from the Jaguars for a 45-28 win.
