Emporia Highs baseball team swept a doubleheader from Topeka West last night. Won the first game 3-1 behind the pitching of Connor Moore who tossed a complete game 1 hitter with 9 strikeouts. The Spartans won the second game 2-1. Brian Aranda was the winning pitcher going the distance for the win. The Spartans are now 3-3 for the season. They are scheduled to play Topeka High in Topeka on Tuesday.
The Emporia High girls swim team dominated Topeka High and Topeka West Friday, winning the meet by over 100 points. The Lady Spartans had 6 first place finishes and 7 state qualifying times.
