The Kansas City Royals ended a 4 game losing skid with a 3-2 10 inning win over the Minnesota Twins Friday night. Lorenzo Cain scored the winning run on an infield grounder by Jarrod Dyson to give the Royals their first walk-off win of the season.
Qualifying takes place Saturday at Daytona for Sundays NASCAR Sprint Cup Coke Zero 400. Clint Bowyer hopes to continue his recent trend. He has had 3 top 10 finishes in his last 4 races, including a 3rd place finish last week at Sonoma. In Fridays practice round he had the 3rd fastest time. He goes into the weekend in 16th place in the point standings.

The Emporia AAA American Legion baseball team lost to the Wichita Greys Thursday night 6-4. A 5 run 7th inning for the Greys was the difference.

Congratulations to the Emporia Soccer Academy's U9 team. They were recognized at last Saturdays Sporting Kansas City Soccer match for winning the Heartland Soccer Association U9, Division 6 Spring League going 8-0. They also won two tournaments in Kansas City going 4-0 in both tournaments. They out scored their opponents 96-13 during the spring season.
