Emporia High boys soccer defeats Hayden 4-1 Featured

The Emporia High boys soccer team opened Centennial League play with a 4-1 win over Topeka Hayden Tuesday.

Hayden took the early 1-0 lead 7 minutes into the match. The Spartans tied the match with just over 3 minutes to play in the 1st half on a goal by Hector Hernandez. Hernandez gave the Spartans the lead just over 7 minutes into the 2nd half. Kaden Nguyen added two goals for the final margin of victory. The Spartans are now 2-1-1 for the season and will host Highland Park Thursday.
