2019-2020 KVOE Athletes and Coaches of the Year announced Featured

KVOE announced the 2019-2020 Emporia High and Area High School Athletes and Coaches of the year on Saturday Morning Sports Talk.

The Emporia High Athletes of the year are Beau Baumgardner and Mya Tovar. The Emporia High Coach of the year is wrestling coach Brook Medrano.

Beau was a member of the football, basketball and baseball team. He was an All-Centennial League selection for both football and basketball.

Mya played basketball and competed in track and field. She was an All-Centennial League selection for basketball.

 

The Area Athletes of the year are, Khylee Massey of Northern Heights and Koby Vanderpool of Marais des Cygnes Valley. The Area Coach of the year is Chris Kirkpatrick, Osage City girls basketball Coach.

Khylee played volleyball, basketball, softball and competed in track and field.

Koby Vanderpool played football, basketball and baseball.

The Emporia High athletes and coach were nominated by Emporia High coaches and voted on by the KVOE Sports Booster Club.

The Area High School athletes and coach were nominated by area Athletic Directors and voted on by area Principals.

Each athlete also receives a $300 scholarship.
