Emporia High golfers thinking "what if" Featured

Two Emporia High golfers have been thinking the "what if" about their lost season, seniors Gentry Scheve and Caleb Schmid.

Gentry said it took some time to get use to the fact that there would be no final high school season.

Caleb said it was and still is shocking.

The State golf tournaments were scheduled for next Tuesday and Wednesday, May 26-27. Scheve says its still hard to deal with, not being able to play for a state title.

Schmid said he also had high expectations for this spring.

As a team the Spartans returned 5 of the 6 players that played at state last year. Scheve believes the team had a chance at having a very good season.

Both Scheve and Schmid are planning on playing in several summer tournaments before heading off to college.

Gentry will be attending Nebraska and Caleb will be attending Rockhurst this fall, both on golf scholarships.
