NCAA DII Presidents Council approves schedule reduction Featured

Emporia State Athletic teams will be competing in fewer contests this next school year due to action taken by the The NCAA Division II President’s Council. The Council Tuesday adjusted Division II's maximum number of permissible contests in all sports for the 2020-21 academic year.

Footballs maximum number of games will be 10. Mens and Womens basketball maximum will be 22 games.
The MIAA announced that it’s scheduling subcommittee will review MIAA schedules for the 2020-21 academic year, and make modifications where necessary to comply with the new NCAA requirements.
This action is a response to help Division II institutions manage the economic fallout from the COVID-19 Global Health Pandemic.

The MIAA hopes to have schedules available to approve by June 15th.

Other Emporia State sponsored sports maximum contests.
Volleyball - 20 dates
Cross Country - 6 dates
Soccer - 14 contests
Track and Field - 14 dates combined indoor and outdoor
Baseball - 40 contests
Softball - 44 contests
Tennis - 17
