Send-off party scheduled for Hornet football team

The Emporia State football team is making final preparations for its first playoff game in a decade, and Hornet fans are welcomed to help send the team off to its game against Minnesota-Duluth.

Tomorrow, fans are encouraged to gather on the east side of the HPER Building at 12:15 pm as the Hornets leave for Topeka's Forbes Field.

Also, fans can attend a special watch party at 1 pm at the Memorial Union Webb Hall. Doors will open at 12:30 pm, and no outside food or beverages will be permitted. The second half will also be shown at White Auditorium before the No. 4 Lady Hornets host Midwestern State at 4 pm.

The game starts at 1 pm Saturday, so coverage on Mix 104.9 FM and KVOE.com -- your home for Hornet sports -- begins at noon.
