Emporia State womens basketball team rolls over Tabor, move up in rankings

The Emporia State womens basketball team has moved up to #4 in this weeks national coaches poll. Bently remains the top ranked team. Gannon, Clayton State are 2nd and 3rd. Central Missouri is ranked 6th and Washburn 16th. The Lady Hornets improved to 5-0 with a 107-58 win over Tabor Monday night.

6 players scored in double-figures led Merissa Quick with 22 points, Kionna Kellog added 16 points and 10 rebounds.

Haley Parker scored 15 points, making 4 of 4 3 point shots. Rheanna Egli finished with 13 points and 8 assists. Laura Patrick scored 11 points and Desiree Wylie finished with 10 points. The Lady Hornets scored the games first 13 points and never looked back. They led 50-28 at halftime and out scored the Blue Jays 57-30 in the second half.

With the win the Lady Hornets improved to 5-0 on the season. They will Host #10 Midwestern State Saturday afternoon. Tip-off is set for 4pm at White Auditorium.
