Laura Patrick scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds to lead the Emporia State womens basketball team to a 68-59 win over Newman Thursday night.
The Lady Hornets jumped out to a 13-2 lead in the first half only to have Newman rally to take an 18-17 lead. Emporia State would take a 26-23 lead by halftime. In the second half Emporia State out scored the host Jets 42-36. Kinona Kellog was the only other Lady Hornet to score in double figures finishing with 16 points, 12 coming in the second half. Amber Vandiver added 4 points and 11 rebounds. With the win the Lady Hornets improved to 4-0. They will host Tabor Monday night.
