The Emporia State Men open the season with a WIN

The Emporia State mens basketball team won their regular season opener 74-62 over Rockhurst Sunday night.

13 ESU MENS BASKETBALL BUNCH

The Hornets trailed by 10 in the first half but rallied with a 29-18 run to take a 38-37 halftime lead. In the second half the Hornets out scored the Hawks 36-25. Senior Kaleb Wright led the way with a game high 20 points. Senior Paul Bunch added 18 points and 11 rebounds and Sophomore Terrence Moore finished with 11 points. The Hornets won the battle of the boards 43-34, out rebounding Rockhurst 24-13 in the second half. Rockhurst was led by Cooper Beckett and Nardie Bogues with 9 points each. The Emporia State  men will play their home opener Tuesday against McPherson.
