Emporia States soccer team picked up its first ever post season win Tuesday night as the 7th seeded Lady Hornets upset number 2 seed Northeastern State 3-0 in the MIAA post season tournament.
Jordan Foutch scored the first goal in the 20th minute of play. Mallory Walden would give Emporia State a 2-0 at the half scoring off a header in the 43rd minute of play. McKenzie Koch put the match out of reach with an unassisted goal in the 60th minute of play. Goalie Yadira Rivera stopped 7 shots for the shutout and win. Emporia State will face Southwest Baptist in the semi-finals Friday in Kansas City. Southwest Baptist defeated Lindenwood 2-1.
Central Oklahoma up-set top seed Central Missouri 3-1. and Washburn defeated Nebraska Kearney going to a shootout to win.
