Oklahoma State lassos Hornets

The number 8 Ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys out scored the Emporia State mens basketball team 87-51 Friday night.

13 ESU MENS BASKETBALL BUNCH

The Cowboys used an 8-0 run in the first half to turn a 5-4 Emporia State lead into a 12-5 OSU lead and never looked back.

6 Cowboys scored in double-figures led by Markel Brown with 14. Marcus Smart, last years Big 12 player of the year and the preseason player of the year, finished 11 points. Emporia State shot only 22% in the first half and trailed 42-18 at intermission. For the game the Hornets turned the ball over 25 times, that turned into 30 points for Oklahoma State. The Hornets were led in scoring by Freshman Jay Temaat with 12 points. He hit 3 three point baskets and was 3-3 at the freethrow line. Senior Paul Bunch added 9 points and 9 rebounds.

Former Emporia High standout Jackson Perez played 3 minutes and scored 2 points for Oklahoma State. Emporia State next plays at UMKC next Friday.
