Emporia High boys soccer falls to Kapaun

In a match that mirrored the season the Emporia High boys soccer team had a good start in their showdown with Kapaun Mt. Carmel, but did not finish as strong losing 2-1.

The Spartans took the early lead on a break away goal by Mario Magana 13 minutes into the match. The scored remained tied until the second half when Kapaun tied the score, then took the lead for good on a goal with over 15 minutes to play. Emopria High had a number of other scoring opportunities in both the first and second half but could not finish the shots. The Spartans finish the regular season with a 5-11 record. They will receive their regional assignment Saturday.
