Royals offense and Ventura provide fireworks in 7-1 win over Cleveland.

Kansas City's offense provided some 4th of July fireworks, of their own, as the Royals handed the Cleveland Indians a 7-1 loss in the series openener Friday night. 

Royals' starter Yordano Ventura put on a pretty dazzling display himself, as he flirted with a complete game shutout before allowing a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth.  Ventura went 8 1/3 innings, giving up one run on six hits and two walks while striking out four.

Christian Colon -- making is his first major league start -- had a triple and two doubles and scored three times, Salvador Perez had three hits, and Lorenzo Cain added a pair of RBI singles.  Mike Moustakas chipped in a three-run home run and says the performances by Colon and Ventura set the tone for the rest of the series.

The Royals and Indians continue their series Saturday night.  Jeremy Guthrie is scheduled to start for Kansas City against Cleveland's TJ House.  Pregame at 5:30, first pitch at 6:05 on 14 KVOE.
