Royals shutout by Baltimore, 4-0.

The Kansas City Royals offense continued their anemic ways Friday night, falling to Baltimore 4-0.

Royals' starter Jeremy Guthrie scattered 8 hits over 8 innings surrendering all 4 Orioles runs, including a Chris Davis solo home run in the top of the 8th inning.

The Royals and Orioles continue their series Saturday evening.  Pre-game at 5:30, first pitch at 6:10.  Danny Duffy is set to start against Baltimore's Bud Norris.

_____________

Prior to Friday's game, the Royals designated outfielder Justin Maxwell for assignment to make room for reliever Casey Coleman.  Coleman pitched a perfect ninth inning Friday.

Coleman, 26, is a part of a clan that has the Major Leagues' only family with three generations of pitchers. His grandfather, Joe Coleman, was an American League All-Star in 1948 and pitched in the 1940s and '50s, mostly with the Philadelphia A's. And his father, Joe Coleman, was a 1972 All-Star with Detroit and pitched from 1965-79.
