ESU looks to avoid elimination at MIAA tournament.

The Emporia State baseball team waited out a four hour rain delay and came from three runs down to force extra innings before falling 9-8 to Central Oklahoma at the MIAA tournament in Springfield, MO.

ESU took a 4-1 lead after the 1st inning, but Central Oklahoma scored three runs in the 2nd to tie the game.  After the two teams traded runs in the 3rd, Central Oklahoma scored three runs in the 4th to go ahead 8-5.  ESU scored a single run in the 6th and two runs in the 7th to even things up again.  Central Oklahoma got the winning run on a solo home run in the top of the 10th.  Dean Long, Toby Cornejo, and Price Jacobs each drove in a pair of runs.

ESU will play Northeastern State in an elimination game at 10am Friday morning.  Pre-game coverage on 14 KVOE and KVOE.com scheduled to start at around 9:45am.  Northeastern was defeated by Missouri Western 12-11 in the Thursday's first game.
