Emporia State baseball team sweeps Northwest Missouri State

The Emporia State baseball team completed the sweep of Northwest Missouri State by winning both games of a doubleheader Saturday.

 

The Hornets won the first game 3-2. Levi Parker hit a bases loaded 2 out single to drive in the winning run in the bottom of the 7th. Wade Hannah hit an rbi double and solo homerun for the other two runs.

 

In the second game Emporia State out scored Northwest Missouri State 11-7. Dean Long had big game driving in 6 runs. He hit a solo homerun in the first inning and hit a 3 run homerun in the 8th inning.

 

With the sweep the Hornets have now won 11 in a row. They have also clinched a spot in the MIAA tournament. The Hornets are scheduled to host Newman Tuesday and go to Lindenwood for their final MIAA 4 game series beginning Friday.
