Emporia State baseball wins first two games of 4 with Northwest Missouri State

The Emporia State baseball team swept a doubleheader from Northwest Missouri State Friday, they won 6-2 and 3-1.

Emporia State won the first game 6-2 thanks to a walk off grand slam by Price Jacobs in the bottom of the 7th. Northwest had tied the score thanks to two throwing errors in the top of the 7th.  The Hornets won the second game 3-1. Jarred Miller was the winning pitcher going 7 innings giving up 1 run on 5 hits. Jacob Price and Wade Hanna drove in runs with singles and Aaron Gile hit a solo homerun. The Hornets have now won 9 in a row. They host Northwest Missouri State in a doubleheader Saturday afternoon beginning at 1pm. The first game will be broadcast on MIX 104.9.
