Lady Hornets in Sweet 16

The Emporia State women's basketball team will be making their 11th sweet 16 appearance after defeating Wayne State 76-69 in the NCAA Central Regional semi-finals Saturday.

Laura Patrick scored the games first 3 points and the Lady Hornets never trailed. They led by 6 at halftime. In the second half they led by as many as 15. Laura Patrick scored a game high 19 points, making 5 3 point baskets. Merissa Quick had her second double-double of the tournament finishing with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Desiree Wylie added 14 points and Haley Parker finished with 10 points. Wayne State was led by Addy Roller with 18 points. Wayne State finishes their season with a 28-5 record. The Lady Hornets improve to 30-3 and will play in the regional championship game Monday night at 7pm.
