Peyton Manning threw five touchdown passes, four to Eric Decker, as the Denver Broncos rallied to beat the Kansas City Chiefs 35 to 28 on Sunday.
Kansas City jumped out to an early 21-7 lead before Denver answered with 28 straight points to take a 35-21 lead. The Chiefs still had a chance in the final minutes of the game. Jamaal Charles ran for a touchdown with 6:32 left to get within a touchdown, and then the Chiefs got the ball back when Denver was forced to punt. Three long passes moved the Chiefs down field, but Alex Smith's pass to Dwayne Bowe in the end zone on fourth-and-4 with 1:45 left fell incomplete, allowing the Broncos to run out the clock.
With the win, the Broncos (10-2) have moved one game ahead of the Chiefs for sole possession of first place in the AFC West. The Chiefs (9-3) have now lost three-straight. They play at Washington next Sunday.
