Emporia State football in playoffs

The Emporia State football team plays their first play-off game in 10 years Saturday. The Hornets will face post season tested Minnesota Duluth.

Redshirt Freshman Antonio Brown says he is not surprised the Hornets are in the play-offs.

Minnesota Duluth is making their 6th consecutive play-off appearance. Emporia State Coach Garin Higgins says this will be a touch test.

Emporia State will face a team that has made a living by running the ball. Duluth has the 9th best rushing offense in the nation. Led by Austin Sikorski who has rushed for 1117 yds and 14 touchdowns. Emporia State senior linebacker Jordan Sanders says they need to be consistant.

Kick-off Saturday is set for 1pm in Duluth, Minnesota. The winner advances to play at Northwest Missouri State next Saturday.

The other Super Region 3 first round play-off game has St. Cloud State playing at Henderson State. That winner will play at Minnesota State-Mankato next Saturday.
