(WSU) Wichita State suffered its first road loss in over a year Saturday, falling 73-59 at Houston. The Shockers entered the day with a share of the nation's longest true road winning streak at 11, but committed 18 turnovers and shot a season-low 32 percent. Shaquille Morris scored a team-high 12 points and was the only Shocker to score in double-figures.
Wichita State falls to 15-4 and 5-2 in the American Athletic Conference. The Shockers next host Central Florida Thursday night.
The Emporia High wrestling team finished in 3rd place in the Emporia Winter Duels Saturday. The Spartans defeated Independence 57-22 and defeated Olathe North 68-6. They lost to Junction City 36-33 and lost to Derby 45-28.
