SALLY’S HUSHPUPPIES

1 cup flour
1 cup yellow corn meal
¼ cup sugar
1
tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
Mix all dry ingredients
together, then add:
2cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 medium onion, chopped
Mix well.
Beat together and add to
other mixture:
1 egg
¾ cup milk
Heat oil to 325 degrees and
drop by rounded soup spoon
full into oil. Cook, turning over several times, until
medium
brown. Serves 10 guests.
