The Kansas City Bird Dog Club will be having its 1st meeting of 2012 at Granite City Restaurant at Zona Rosa (I-29 and Barry Rd) next Thursday, January 12th at 7:00 pm.  If you can send to me a quick email, phone call, or text if you can attend, that would be great so that we get the right size area at the restaurant.  The Kansas City Bird Dog Club is a local, not-for-profit organization of Bird Dog Enthusiast of all pointing and flushing breeds (yes, they are supposed to be separate).

The Kansas City Bird Dog Club is for any owner or interested owner of a bird dog that lives within 200 miles of Kansas City.   If you own any of the breeds listed below and you hunt, field trial, show your dog in conformation events, run agility trials, participate in fly ball events, have a desire to serve the community with your dog, simply have your dog as a family pet, and you want to interact with like minded, good hearted individuals, this is the bird dog club for you, your family, or your breed club.  Just as you do, the club recognizes that your dogs are exceptional dogs either on the field, off the field, and most of the time both.

The Kansas City Bird Dog Club is a Not-For-Profit organization with membership comprised of owners of purebred, register Bird Dogs. The membership's dogs will be comprised of the Pointing Breeds and Flushing Breeds. It shall provide the opportunity for members to enjoy the hunting experience of hunting with a pointing dog and a flushing dog. The membership will consist of bird dog owners, hunters, reputable breeders, trainers, veterinarians, rescue volunteers, wildlife biologist, field trialers and avid outdoorsmen. The club members shall actively see to retire their bird dogs as Therapy Dogs and Service Dogs. The Kansas City Bird Dog Club is a member club in good standing of the Amateur Field Trial Association (AFTCA).

Mission: The Kansas City Bird Dog Clubs Mission is to educate the public on the various bird dog sporting breeds, assist pet owners in the selection of the correct breed for their lifestyle, support a variety of field trials, participate in breed rescue efforts, promote bird dogs as service dogs and therapy dogs (TDI), ensure responsible training and care, advocate responsible breeding, participate in DNA Testing, and maintain volunteers for wildlife habitat projects by assisting other habitat organizations in Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and the Dakota's.
