Spring Book Sale gets started

The Emporia Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale is underway this week.

Friends of the Library co-coordinator Joan Sheridan says the money raised helps to enhance learning activities at the library.

Books of virtually every genre are available, along with DVDs, VHS tapes and audio books.

The sale runs during normal library operating hours through Saturday. Sheridan says roughly 900 to 1,000 hours of volunteer work goes into each sale.
