Emporia Police have made arrests in connection to the Nov. 4 burglary at Flinthills Mall, that saw two businesses burglarized.
The suspects include 43-year-old Jeffrey Muoio and 47-year-old Cheryl Dains, both of Emporia. Both are charged in connection to the actual burglary as well as suspicion of drug possession and other drug crimes. Also arrested was 22-year-old Julian Castillo of Emporia for possession of stolen property, possession of meth with intent to distribute and marijuana possession.
A fourth suspect, 37-year-old Nicole Rice of Emporia was arrested for possession of stolen property. Additional charges include aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer, assault on a law enforcement officer, criminal possession of a weapon by a felon, felony flee and elude and other drug charges. Police say many of these charges stem from an officer being dragged a short distance during a car stop while investigating the crime.
The Lyon County Attorney's Office will make the final determination of formal charges on all individuals.
Police say search warrants have been served on the three residences and multiple vehicles and stolen property has been recovered. Not all property has been located and the investigation is still active.
