Food pantry seeing huge need ahead of upcoming food drive

The 16th annual KVOE Drive for Food is less than two weeks away and it can't come soon enough for the Salvation Army of Lyon County.
Shelves that need to be stocked with food sit bare, deep freezers sit with barely anything inside. Captain Deb Thompson says right now the need is great.
Demand is high as the Salvation Army serves more than 100 families in the area. Items of need range from boxed meals to vegetables, hygiene supplies and baby food. Thompson, who is looking forward to her first KVOE food drive, says she's excited for the help from the community.
We are encouraging you to participate by giving us your address, then leave your food donation on your front porch or driveway the morning of October 5th. KVOE will then pick up all donations and deliver them to the Salvation Army.

There are several community drop-off points as well.
