Emporia Public Library welcomes summer

Members of the community were excited to celebrate the warm weather today at the library.
 
The Emporia Public Library hosted their annual summer kickoff celebration with the theme of "building a better world." Library Director, Robin Newell, talks about why its important to host the event.

The celebration hosted many different activities for those in attendance to try out.

Newell says that this is just the beginning of the many different activities that the library will offer through the summer as well.

The kickoff celebration ran from 2 to 3:30 p.m. today and featured a lego display as well as a canned food drive for the Salvation Army. 
 
The library will also be shifting to its summer hours starting Tuesday, May 30.  The summer hours are as follows:
 

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday     9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Wednesday  9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Saturday       11 to 5 p.m.

Sunday          2 to 5 p.m.
