Graduations aplenty are on the calendar the next two weekends.
Emporia State University has ceremonies Friday and Saturday at White Auditorium. As was the case both last spring and this past winter, all students earning graduate degrees will be honored at 6 pm Friday. Two undergraduate celebrations are planned, one for College of Liberal Arts and Science students at 9:30 am Saturday, followed by honors for students in the School of Business and Teachers College at 2 pm Saturday.
Over 500 undergraduate students and another 350 graduate students should get their degrees this weekend. Board of Regents member Allen Schmidt will give remarks at all three ceremonies.
Flint Hills Technical College will hold its commencement activities the following weekend. The dental hygiene pinning ceremony will be at 5 pm May 17 at the college’s Trusler Foundation Conference Center. Spring commencement will start at 10 am May 18 at White Auditorium.
Most area school districts will have their graduation activities this upcoming weekend. Emporia High is among the exceptions, with commencement at 3 pm May 19 at White Auditorium.
