Abundant Harvest was selected as the lucky winner of the second annual Emporia Rotary Club's Grocery Grab Saturday morning.

Scott Shreves was the individual who made the mad dash through Good's Cash Saver representing the local organization.

Shreves thanked Good's and the Rotary Club for holding the event. Good's General Manager Gary Andrews says they are proud to be a part of an event that can help put smiles on the faces of local residents.

Shreves managed to pick up just over $600 in groceries for Abundant Harvest, roughly $300 less than the record total set by last year's winner Carolee Conway who cleared almost $1,000 in items. With over 6,000 tickets sold for the event this year, Rotary Club Vice-President Alex Mosakowski says that total leaves more than $5,000 going back to the club for various projects in the coming year.

Mosakowski adds that the club is hoping to make the event a staple in the community and hopes once the ongoing pandemic eases they hope to bring in spectators to cheer on the participants in the coming years.

Five other finalists were also in attendance for the event Saturday morning and received $50 gift certificates from Good's.

Video of Shreves' run is available on KVOE's Facebook page.
