Lyon County had another period of notable new coronavirus case activity between Wednesday and Friday.

Lyon County Public Health reported 70 new cases in Friday's report, moving the overall total past 2,000 to 2,046 since late March. The active case count is now at 723, but Public Health says that reflects a dip from a peak of 734 on Wednesday.

There is still some "data flux" in the system that made its debut Monday. Wednesday's report had 682 active cases with 21 incoming cases, or positive cases awaiting confirmation of diagnosis dates. Friday's report has 35 incoming positives to process.

Friday's report had Wednesday's adjusted peak, followed by a decline to 724 active cases Thursday.

Four people have died since Wednesday, putting the current death toll at 45.
