As coronavirus cases spike areawide, more businesses are making adjustments.

Gravel City Roasters announced it is going to curbside delivery and carryout only effective Friday and continuing until further notice.

This follows the decision by Emporia State Federal Credit Union to keep its main office at 310 West 12th closed until at least Monday. The closure was first announced on Veterans Day and was extended earlier this week. Customers need to use the drive-thru at the Industrial Road branch while the 12th Avenue location is closed.

Community National Bank, meanwhile, has closed its Industrial Road location since Nov. 13. That remains closed until further notice, so customers are directed to use the Merchant Street branch.

Meanwhile, yet another community event is now off the calendar. Chase County’s Country Christmas, announced just a few days ago, now has most of its events canceled. No decision has been announced on the Chase County Old School Development District’s Tables and Trees event, but the remembrance ceremony at Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, lighting of the caboose in Strong CIty and courthouse in Cottonwood Falls and the holiday parade have all been canceled.
