Court proceedings continue against a Strong City man accused of animal cruelty early this year.

Steven Price was charged in February with six counts of misdemeanor cruelty in the handling of six hrses and a dog. He also faces one count of interference with law enforcement.

Prosecutors charged Price after deputies said they found inadequate food and water for the horses, of which three were dead, one had to be put down and two needed emergency housing. Price has said he did not know the horses were on his property.

Defense attorney David Alegria had previously withdrawn, so Seth Meyer was appointed to represent Price during a hearing earlier this month. Price's next pretrial hearing is Dec. 11.
