Despite a change in format due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Flint Hills Technical College's annual Night of Inspiration Gala demonstrated the college's continued support to their student's education Friday evening.

Local residents tuned in, rather than attended, this year's Gala that, other than moving to a virtual platform, remained relatively unchanged from year's past. FHTC Vice President of Advancement Mike Crouch says the college was determined to provide the same great atmosphere residents have come to expect despite the change in format.

College departments were still on full display as well this year as the broadcast was run by the digital media department and viewers had the opportunity to sample delicious offerings from the culinary arts department thanks to the college's new Wrangler Party Packs. The Gala also featured the traditional live and silent auctions with a wide range of items from wine packages to even custom fire pits.

All proceeds from the gala benefit scholarships for FHTC students. Because of this, Crouch says canceling the event due to the pandemic was never an option in his mind as those funds are critical to the success of their students.

The gala raised a total of $92,000 in scholarship funds.
