It won't be a long heat wave, but it will definitely be hot the next few days.

National Weather Service meteorologist Kyle Poage says the prevailing weather pattern is setting the table for hot, sticky and breezy conditions.

Air temperatures could approach 100 degrees Tuesday and Thursday. They could reach 100 degrees Wednesday. Heat index readings could be as high as 105 Tuesday and Wednesday.

In order to beat the heat, stay out of it as best as possible -- meaning air conditioning or fans inside and shaded areas outside. Wear light, loose-fitting clothes and drink lots of water.
