One person suffered possible injuries following a single-vehicle accident on the Kansas Turnpike Friday afternoon.

The Emporia Fire Department and first responders were called to KTA mile marker 103 shortly after 12:30 pm after a southbound 2010 Honda Accord driven by 18-year-old Quianna Michelle King of Oklahoma City struck a barrier wall and came to a rest in a ditch. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log, King failed to maintain a single lane of traffic, entered the inside shoulder and struck three sections of the barrier wall.

The vehicle then crossed both lanes of traffic and came to a rest in the west ditch. King was taken to Newman Regional Health with possible injuries after complaining of pain.
