Family, friends and graduates filled White Auditorium Saturday morning for the 2019 Flint Hills Technical College spring commencement ceremony.

Students in the automotive, dental hygiene, culinary arts and other tech college programs crossed the stage of White Auditorium to collect their degrees. FHTC President Dr. Dean Hollenbeck tells KVOE News all of their graduates deserve to be tremendously proud of themselves as earning a degree from FHTC is no small feat.

Hollenbeck adds, due to the large support and input from local business and industry FHTC is able to shape each program curriculum to help students best meet employer needs. Hollenbeck belives because of this their graduates often have a leg up on the competition when heading into the workforce.

Graduation season is not only an exciting time for the graduates, but also for the staff and instructors according to Hollenbeck. Over 200 graduates received degrees during Saturday's ceremony.
