Those will be the main features of Wednesday night's Emporia City Commission meeting at the Municipal Court Room.
City commissioners will consider a grant for building up Warren Way. The city is in line to receive a $500,000 grant for construction. This will let Simmons Pet Food expand its production capacity and add up to 30 jobs.
Commissioners may award bids for the Coronado Street water main project and the 2014 tree trimming program.
The October budget report will be part of the consent agenda, as will possibly setting Dec. 23 as the date for receiving proposals to extend the Lyon-Chase County Transfer Station's construction-demolition area.
The meeting starts at 7 pm.
Lyon County Commission adjusts schedule
Lyon County commissioners have announced they are holding single meetings both this week and next.
This week's action meeting will take place Thursday morning, with next week's action meeting happening on Wednesday in advance of Thanksgiving. The agenda for this week's meeting should be released by noon Wednesday.
