Officials with the Kansas Board of Regents had a busy day in Emporia on Tuesday.
Regents Chair Fred Logan moderated an open forum on the state of Kansas higher education at Emporia State University shortly before he and Regents President Andy Tompkins came to KVOE for a nearly half-hour interview that aired during KVOE's On-Air Chat on Wednesday.
Wherever the Regents go these days, they emphasize their Foresight 2020 strategic plan. Tompkins says there are three main goals with the plan, including increasing educational attainment and understanding economic needs.
The third goal is to "ensure state university excellence." Logan says this can be measured in several ways.

On another note, Logan says he's looking forward to the final options for Emporia State's campuswide master plan. Those will be released next month. The university is considering three general options for improving the look and accessibility to campus, all revolving around possible changes to entry points at 12th and Commercial, 15th and Merchant or 15th near Highland.
