Defense, prosecution motions presented at Gohring hearing

The fate of several motions is yet to be determined as the case of Wesley Gohring continues in Lyon County District Court.

Gohring, of 1101 Union, faces two sets of counts for alleged meth production activity in August. On Tuesday, a defense motion was filed to change the trial location along with a prosecution number to consolidate both sets of charges. A hearing has been set for Nov. 27 on the prosecution motion. That hearing is separate from another one Gohring is facing on the same day for the second set of charges against him. Another hearing is set for Dec. 20.

Combined, Gohring faces nearly 20 counts, including seven of manufacturing a controlled substance and two each of meth distribution and illegal use of a communication facility.

Potential trial dates of Jan. 6, 23 or 27 were also set today for the controlled substance set of charges. Trial dates have not been set for the meth distribution set of charges.
