An Emporia woman who pleaded no contest to three forgery and three theft counts against her will spend 45 days in jail as part of her sentence.
Lyon County District Judge Jeff Larson sentenced Sheri Wright on Wednesday to 18 months probation with jail time added.
Wright was accused of forging an estimated $8,000 worth of checks linked to an account of C&C Investments and then making them payable to either her or her daughter, Bryanna Goza. Goza told investigators she was unaware of the activity and did not sign any of those checks made to her.
Court documents indicate the crimes happened from August 2012 to this past spring.
