Recent discussion points will highlight Wednesday's Emporia City Commission study meeting.
Commissioners will continue their talk about just how to fund the over $2 million Far West water and sewer project bringing service to U.S. Highway 50 west of Americus Road. Commissioners are debating whether to bond out about $260,000 or drain a special fund to pay for that amount.
In addition, commissioners will continue their own discussion about possibly joining the Flint Hills Regional Council -- something Lyon County commissioners have been discussing separately.
Commissioners will start by reviewing health insurance bids and discussing electronic media participation. They will also take a closer look at a Traffic Safety Committee recommendation about parking at 512 Market as well as possibly acquiring additional water rights.
The meeting starts at 10 am at White Auditorium City Conference Room 1 AB.
